GP Super Clinic – Bundaberg
Bundaberg Health Promotions Ltd is a not-for-profit company that has been in operation in Bundaberg since 1996. The Company entered into a funding agreement with the Federal Government on 8 April 2010 to build and operate the GP Super Clinic in Bundaberg. The Clinic is designed for a maximum capacity of eight GP’s to be recruited over a period of four years dependent on Clinic growth and activity.
The Clinic is under construction on the corner of Branyan and Crofton Streets in a central Bundaberg area. The facility is a two-storey building with an area of 1800 square metres of space within a medical precinct area close to the Friendly Society Private Hospital and only a short distance to the Bundaberg Hospital.
The GP Super Clinic plans to operate as a state-of-the-art teaching facility including information technology and linked to the University of Queensland – Rural Clinical School Program and the CQ University nursing and health programs.
The Clinic will operate a multidisciplinary clinic with GP’s, practice nurses and allied health personnel. The Clinic will include offices for academic staff, facilities for education for students and the community and will provide wheelchair and lift access to both floors.
The Clinic will operate a program of extended hours from 8 am to 8 pm on Monday through Friday and from 8.00 am to 12.00 noon on Saturday. Bulk billing will be available for pensioners, health care card holders and children under 16.
