ABOUT HeartSTART

HeartSTART is a health promotion, chronic disease prevention and cardiac recovery program to build healthier people families and communities.

HeartSTART provides services to help prevent heart disease which is the leading cause of death in Australia. HeartSTART assists people with existing cardiovascular disease (CVD) or those recovering from heart attacks, other cardiac events and cardiac procedures or surgery to again lead enjoyable and functional lives.

HeartSTART also works with people who have other chronic diseases like diabetes and those who have risk factors for chronic disease such as smoking, overweight, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, poor nutrition and inadequate physical activity to develop personal skills, self-care and a health plan toward a healthier lifestyle.
